The Top 7 Movies For Kids

I have been babysitting my nieces and nephews a lot lately. Since I do not have children myself, I am not sure what television shows are really appropriate. Instead of letting them watch television, we watch movies. The following seven movies are the ones we return to most often.

1) Monsters Inc. ” The stories play to both adults and children in this beautifully animated movie. The monsters turn out to be the good guys too!

2) Toy Story ” This story follows Andy as he has to learn to deal with the new kid in town, Buzz. Andy watches himself being replaced and has to learn to cope.

3) Finding Nemo ” Is a story about how children need to be left to make their own decisions as part of growing up. The characters and story are well developed, and the animation is beautiful.

4) The Little Mermaid ” This classic still holds up, and the soundtrack can get everyone off the couch.

5) ET ” hosts one of the most iconic movie moments. Elliot riding his bicycle past the moon. This is a classic story of inter-species friendship. The effects are a bit dated, but the story is a classic.

6) Night at the Museum ” As a child, I was always intrigued with museums, and I especially loved the Natural History Museum. The idea that the creatures exhibited there can come to life is thrilling for most children.

7) The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe ” A wonderful, and inspirational tale of courage and character. What never fails to amaze me is that the lion is completely computer generated!
